Neer Kozhukattai | Sweet Rice Balls in Soup

My mom make this for breakfast and I love this very much, and  my  kids too. This is easy to prepare.



Ingredients

Rice flour (or) Puttu flour (or) Idiyaapam flour - 1 cup
Grated Coconut - 4 tablespoons
Salt - as per taste
Sugar - 4 tablespoons or as per taste

Method

Take two and a half cups of water in a heavy bottomed pan and bring it to boil.

In the mean time put the rice flour in a bowl and add the salt, sugar, grated coconut and mix it.

Now add half cup of water to the flour and make a dough.Now make small balls from the dough and put them in the boiling water.

Add all the balls in the boiling water and cook for 15-20 minutes on low flame.

Take out a rice ball and cut into half to make sure that it is well cooked. Once done remove from fire and serve hot.

Note - you can cook this without sugar and if you want add sugar before serving.
